Be careful with that Ralphie, I mean, Jeff, you'll shoot your eye out!!!

That pup flies open!

On of favorite knives of all time. Assisted opening, ATS-34, and the clip is on the end where when you extract it from your pocket, it's ready to go w/o having to fumble with it.

Thanks for the "thanks" but I must credit Five-0 Mike and that Packing Rat named Larry.

Merry Christmas my Brit Bike Brother Forever...Merry Christmas.
.

It's sure going to be a keeper.Even the Mrs.Hawk likes this one. Thanks to all that helped Goose,Mike and Larry.

That one came from the BUCK booth at the 2005 NRA convention in Houston. CJ's etcher was having problems with air pressure I believe, so his Signature etch is really light. Sarah was away from the booth at the time so I wasn't able to get her sig on it as well.

Can't believe you pried it away from the Goose. :D:thumbup:

I did not get it from Goose Larry.Goose still has the one he got from you.I found it on the net.....:D
Goose just Talked me into it.I had read his,and Five 0 Mike's and your post about the 298Gy with ats34 steel.I read them quit a while back.It just took a while for me to find one.
Heading down to London in the morning.Going to field test some Buck knives.
will check on you later.

Ahhhh,,,I seee....Cool. Couldn't imagine the Gooser giving one of his up.

We are still hanging on getting back out there. Couple of things dependant and all.... I still have your number..

Heck no Larry!!! I still have the two. In fact, I came across the one that is still in the box today. And, the one I EDC is on my desk looking at me as I type.

And, BTW, the etch is still legible and there :)
Thanks again Pack Rat, and Hawkeye, write after a few days of carrying it around. Interested in what you think of it as a user, if you plan on using it...

:thumbup:Just back from hunting.Goose I played open and close all the way to the deer lease.Man this is one cool Buck.I realy like the way she opens. This thing is very sharp too.Cut plastic water bottles, corn sacks, rope, plastis ice bags,
just to name a few.I see what you mean about the clip on the pommel
end and ready to deploy when you get it out of your pocket, with out
having to turn it up or down .The only thing is I can't seem to leave it
in my pocket for very long.I just have to open it.
Thanks Goose,Larry and Five O Mike.

Hi Jeff,

Those ASAP Bucks are very cool. I carry a Tempest version every day.

Yes they are J.B. Good knives.

I have a Question for the ASAP user's out there it Buck land. When taking
the lock off of the lock setting.Do you use the Index finger or your thumb?
I have been using my index figer but have tryied the thumb also.
How about you?

...hmmm...Ya know Hawkster...I just realized that I never use the lock on my 298GY...I unlocked it once a long time ago and I haven't locked it since...It's never "surprized" me with an unexpected appearance either...

Looks like a nice knife Hawkeye. Congratulations. I've held off on getting one of these because of the funky safety.

Index finger for me. I carry it clipped to my right front pocket. I don't carry my Rush every day, but when I do, that's where you'll find it. Or, where I find it. Jack

Hi Jeff,

Like Jack, I always use my index finger. If you get one of these and use it; the safety will become a subconscious thing and you will not even think about it. Out of all the spring assisted knives with a safety, IMHO Bucks is the best.

You know Docter D.The safety on mine will sometimes change positions when taking it in and out of my front pocket.
Messy it,s good to hear from you again.I really like this 298GY Buck.
Jack and JB, thanks for the reply.Finger it is.
Jeff

:)...I have one 297 that has a very loose safety lever as well. The other 298's, 295's and 296's that I have all have safeties that actually almost click hard into place. I like 'em all though Jeff and they are great EDC's...and yes it was goose and rodent that got me into the Sirus/Tempests...
