I finally got the old knife making machine to fire on most of the cylinders. Here's the latest two I have been working on. The smaller one has a 4" forged saw steel blade, iron fittings with a piece of deer or elk stag for the handle. Overall its just over 8". The larger knife is one I hand forged from a 7/8" X 2" cylindrical 52100 bearing. Anything larger out of 52100 I would not attempt to do by hand. The blade is just over 4 1/2" and it has wrought iron fittings with a piece of sambar stag as the handle. Overall its just over 9". Both have my two ply cowhide sheaths.

If that is what your work looks like when firing on most cylinders, I would love to see it firing on all cylinders!!

Vey nice work!!!

Good looking knives Ray. I'm liking the first one (smaller one) especially well, it's nice and pointy.

Are these coming to Arkansas, or are they already spoken for?

they both are very nice Ray I really like the looks of the guard on that first one.

Damn, why do I always end up behind Dave on these things!!! Anyway, great little knives, there, Ray.

Like others have mentioned the sculpting of the guard/ferrules, particularly the first one is really interesting.
Nice knives Ray.

Eli, I've got a feeling the larger knife maybe barter with my chyropractor but there's a good chance you could see them both at AKA.

Thanks for the replies!

Ray, you are still, and always will be, one of my favorite knife makers. You don't seem capable of making an ugly knife.

Lorien, The pretty knives are the only ones allowed to see the light of day. The others stay in the shop with the old wall flower........

I totally agree.

Ray, glad to hear that at least one of them will be in Arkansas. I'm ecstatic to see what you decide to bring, can't wait.

Very Nice Ray, I'm really looking forward to the AKA show, be good to see you again. Friday night at the Banquet I'll buy you and that Bump guy a long owed beer. :)

Sweet knives! I love those sheaths too. Each new sheath I see of yours looks cooler and cooler. Great job on the knives and sheaths! :D

Kyle, I figure it was 2 years ago when I decided to do a few Scandinavian style knives and the sheaths that went with them. I probably did a half dozen knives and sheaths and came up with this idea for sheaths of my own design. I went from a very strong dislike for leather work to actually enjoying it now. Thanks for your comment.

Bill, I'm getting pretty excited about the AKA Show. Looking forward to seeing you again.
