I got this from L4NE4, since he had done such a nice job stripping it for me. What a great canvas! Anyway, I was going to etch this in with PCB Etch, but went with gun blue, instead, so it wouldn't be as permanent. It was a fun project, but it won't stop me from using it.

In the next day or two I'll get some good pics with it in the daylight.

DUDE. sell it back to me right now! I wonder how that would work if you dunked it in bleach? Looks awesome man.

Haha! Sorry man, I like this one too much. :) It's destined for my backpacking bag as a lighter option than the crappy Menards-cheapo hatchet I've tried using in the past.

I don't think the bleach etch would work on the letters. Maybe the flag side though. .

And that is a sweet knife isn't it? Ill try the kukri when I have the funds again

that is really awesome,

If you dont mind me asking, how did you do it? (ie: stencil, by hand, etc)

I designed it on my computer, then cut paint mask vinyl with my vinyl cutter, applied it to the knife, and blued I've the mask.

Ok

Awesome, I didn't know how you did it

That is how I would have tried it (and not done so well)

Very nice. I will I have to remember how this is

Nice looking Cutlass, bro! What a badass m.f.the Cutlass is.

I finally got this bad-boy into the woods. I have a spot where a tornado went through 2 falls ago and there are some pine trees that snapped about 8' up. I've been wanting to cut in and see if they're ready to provide me some nice pitch wood, and the Cutlass did that job with ease! I cut in about 4' above the ground and can tell that I'll be getting at least 4-5' lengths of sappy fatwood goodness out of at least 2 of these pines. Time to get out there with the chainsaw!

Anyway, the Cutlass is a great chopper. It almost feels like the blade is being sucked into the tree with you get it with the sweet spot. Yes, it has surpassed the Becker BK9 in my mind as the essential chopping knife!

Here's some fatwood chunks I took with it. I'll save the rest for when I have the chainsaw to take it out in full lengths.

One of the coolest blade mods I've ever seen.
