This is my second fixed blade...
My first was actually the same thing but with a swedge.
I left the swedge off this as I think I like it better.
01 tool steel
Heat treat in house (two brick forge)
Satin finish
Black canvas micarta
OAL 8 3/4"
Cutting edge 4"

I'm not sure if I should be posting pictures here because I do not have a paid membership??
I'm just a hobbyist making knives.
Please inform me if I should have a paid membership to post here.
Thanks

You're perfectly fine to post clean knife pics. And for a second fixed blade, well done. I must say your discription format is spot on too lol. Keep up the good work.

It looks really nice, great work!

I'm sure a paid membership will pay for itself, plenty of us will help support your hobby if you keep making classy creations like that.

Nicely done!
Second Hunter, how many knives have you made total?

Thanks for the encouragement first off.
I still have a lot to improve on, and search and read all the time.
I started first with folders, I have made 5 lockbacks.
Than I started on fixed blades.
Kind of backwards I guess than the norm.

The chamfered hole in the back of the knife here is a little rough.
I got to figure out how to do this better. Sanding with a tooth pick did not cut it, and a jewelry file didn't work either.
I do not have a mill and would like an idea on how to try and do this better.
Thanks

A diamond pocket sharpener that is usually tapered and or round. Also if you can put it in the chuck of a drill. You can really speed up the process. Small diamond files work too. But as always, do the work before heat treat to reduce your work load after. I put 5 serration notches into a BK2's edge with a drill and a worn out pocket diamond sharpener.

If I can find a pick I will post it. But using apple ios 5.1 operating system with photo bucket is a pain in the butt. [edit, quote system was faster than photo bucket lol] don't know how much this will help but here it all the same.
