Here's my 2nd knife.
When #1 was ready for heat-treating,having never done this before I thought a test run would be a good idea.I ground this from the same steel as #1,heat-treated,tempered and put an edge on it.I was quite suprised with the results,I stuck a piece of 1" dowel on it for a handle and whittled my way through a 2x2 piece of yellow pine and still was able to shave the hair on my arm,so I decided to go ahead and finish it.Tom can tell you what kind of wood the handle is made from.More pics of #2 At http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=956336&a=7156903 pics of # 3 later tonight.
