WAITING ON BLADES You guys please be aware I'm going to just call it on your orders listed here remaining to be done. It is just something I can't do for you guys as no blades have been done and I am not sure but figure Koyote does not wish to do more so consider your orders cancelled as of this date which is August 5th of 2009. My apologies. Any questions contact me. I'm burned out on doing them so often anyways.
Teacher- (Koyote blade) Red Linen Micarta, liner lock
Thewoodpecker-Burgandy canvas liner lock RH tip up low-rider w/ a Koyote blade
Plowboy- Koyote blade, brown G10, low rider right hand tip down carry, liner lock

This one I am working on but it will still be a while. Dave has not cut out the blade shape for me yet which means its still a ways off.
Murdok72605- Frame lock right hand. Low rider right hand tip up, gold anodized 3V high flat grind blade sending his own steel.
consider thumb ramp on the blade spine w/ some traction grooves.

OK guys I have a lot going on right now in the way of some stuff I promised to get done for some folks before blade show that will keep me busy for the next however long it takes me to do the work and figure sometime around my birthday June 1st that I'll be moving full blown into and on top of this next run of BUSSTR folders for you guys listed above.

Inventory is done and here is what I have to go with this run.

In Micarta choices:

1) Black Canvas- enough for 3 folders none spoken for so far

2) Green Canvas- enough for 4 folders none spoken for

3) Burgundy Micarta looks like a B-Linen that I didn't know I had. Found it lurking in the top of the back of the drawer up there wedged in hidden from view. Anyway its enough for 2 folders none spoken for

4) Red Linen- enough for 2 folders both now spoken for

5) Teal Canvas- Enough for two folders

G10 choices are all smooth G10 not textured:

1) Blue G10 smooth, and enough for 4 folders none spoken for

2) Teal G10 smooth 1 folder none spoken for

3) Black and Tan G10 1 spoken for enough to do 1 more

4) Black and Red G10 enough for 4 folders none spoken for

5) Hunter Orange G10 none spoken for enough for 4 folders

G11 choices:

Lime Green G11. Found just enough for 1 BUSSTR also hidden in that top lip of the drawer.

Ok what I need from you guys is this.

Pick the type you want, frame lock, or liner lock. I have 4 right hand sets of the textured BUSSTR folders left for frame locks and thats all I have for this run. Frame locks have to use the Koyote blade.

Pick a scale material for your BUSSTR if you want the liner lock.

Lanyards are automatic now no need to mention that but I do need to know type of pocket clip and tip up or tip down carry.

I also need to know if you want a Cobbler blade or a Koyote blade model.

Again for your information the prices are: $135 each using Micarta handle scales with a Cobbler blade does not include a pocket clip in that price add $25 for a clip and tell me type and how. Koyote blade models are $200 each and Koyote blade frame locks are $300 each, $275 on the textured frame locks plain jane with no jeweling or blade finish and bead blasted slab finish. Pocket clips are included on that more expensive model.
Think about it and let me know. Thanks:thumbup:

I want RED linen, I'll get back to you on the rest of it later today.
I'm at work right now and out of time about.

Wow, we're getting close.

I will take the last of the red linen
Cobbler blade
liner lock
low rider clip r.h. tip up

Hi STR,

I remember you mentioning that it'd be ill-advised to make a dual thumbstud model, but would it be possible to make one with a thumb disk, for ambidextrous opening?

Not from me. Sorry but I have no way of managing that. Instead what I have is true left handed frame locks in textured titanium made up ready to use. I have six sets for six true south paw knives in the frame lock models currently in stock and four left of the right hand models from an original six of those. The liner locks could be set up right or left handed as they are if I knew in advance so its just a matter of discussion if a lefty drifts in and wants one. I've made left handed knives for end line users more than a few times over the years. Half of my own family is lefty including myself for a lot of things. I for example am left handed for my computer mouse that has always been on the left side because it just feels awkward to do it right handed. I shoot bow and arrow left handed, write with either hand and so on. Its not that big a deal for me to make a lefty so for the record if thats the case all you guys have to do is ask. None of my models were designed with ambi thumb studs. However, I have not seen the Wharncliffe blades that Koyote is making and if my guess is correct those by the nature of all that straight edge will have to stand up out of the folder higher than the clip point models so if enough spine is out there I may be able to offer an ambi stud on that model. Don't hold your breath just yet though. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it I guess.

Burgandy canvas liner lock RH tip up low-rider w/ a Koyote blade.
He is working up something a little different for me.

I'll check back in the morning on this thread before heading for the shop to update it.

Work officially begun on these today for the six of you wanting Cobbler blades. Ordering is now closed for this run of folders.

I have more than I can keep up with going on and will be doing some Emerson conversions in between some of these as the stuff I'm waiting on gets here for those. Also, the Koyote blades have not arrived so those are on the back burner to do later.

For now Klingshoc's scales are cut out and the folder is underway for him but I started late and probably won't get it done for a few days. We'll see how it goes.

Stay tuned. I actually started all of them and will knock them out as I can get to them.

Thanks for your patience.

Hey thanks. I had a good one and didn't notice any new gray hairs so I guess I still look the same too! :D The wife made me a cake, and even cooked dinner for me which was nice for a change. I usually do the cooking but when I came in from the shop last evening I knew something was up when I smelled a yummy roast cooking so I had one of my faves in a meat and potatoes meal last night.

Been cutting up G10 and Micarta so far this morning. Don't have all of them knocked out just yet but when I do I'll move on to contouring them. I had three blades ready to use in the shop and will try to focus on those three to begin things. Right now I have to cut out some Red Linen Micarta, then move to some black and red and then black and tan G10 and that will probably take me to the contouring to give those some anotomy taking advantage of the nice weather and slight drizzle we have to keep it cool enough to open the shop doors and vent the place nicely.

So hopefully before long Klingshoc, Cotherion, Delrin Fred, and Bruce will have knives showing up in here posted and ready to ship off before I move into the remaining ones.

I am just a couple steps away from finishing Kingshoc's folder. Email sent on that one.

Cotherion your folder is right behind it with very little left. I expect to have it done probably tomorrow, latest by Saturday.

Fred, yours is right behind Cotherion's due out Monday probably done Sunday.

Then I have the others started but not as far along as these three.

If you guys have not contacted me please do so. I'm not clear on what you want and some of you that have contacted me have not made it clear for the type of clip unless I missed it. Please clarify as I'm getting close. This is cobbler blade orders only. I don't have Koyote blades yet so no worries on yours till later.

Thanks

STR

I'll be doing the clip on this one and its done. Next up Cotherions which is just a few steps away from done tomorrow.

Thanks

I'm really looking forward to next week - the BUSSTR will be coming as well as a NIB Parker Bench Made folder with a Wharncliffe blade and a top lock (like the A G Russell one hand model), and a NIB stainless Spyderco Kiwi. :D

Steve, I will put a check in the mail to you tomorrow.

I am excited.

Thanks Fred. I've got four all in the same place on the bench so depending on how it goes I could have more than one done tomorrow. Its all in when I get motivated to get out there and get after it.

Here are the final pics of the one for Kingshoc. Its officially finished now so one down.

Yes its close. You have certainly been waiting haven't you, and patiently at that?

I have three with great lock ups ready to trim out after eating and taking a break. Been working three at the same pace today trying to get all the steps knocked out one by one. Just three steps left on each folder and these three will be ready to ship out as early as tomorrow morning. So to be clear here thats one for Cotherion, one for Delrin Fred, and the one for Bruce very close to being finished.

Once I trim these down finishing the liner-micarta-G10 to each other and then set the detent balls I only have the clips left on each one.

Cotherion you are the first person to ask me to use the red and black G10. Once I put some anatomy on that handle set the appeal of that handle really started to show. It and the black and tan are pretty cool in my opinion.

Anyway, just an update here for some coming up with some digital pics later. Be aware that only a few pics of these will be posted here on my forum. For the full treatment go to my blog link and you'll see other things the storage space here won't allow. Thanks

Three more finished except for the clips which are coming up.

You guys can contact me at your leisure. These can go out tomorrow if I get addresses and squared away. Your call but keep in mind on Sat. my PO closes at noon. Fred your red linen one weighs in at 3 ounces without the clip. The other two in G10 are slightly heavier at 3.3 ounces.

Thanks

Perfect! My Kershaw OD-1 which I have been carrying the last month is 3.3oz, so the BUSSTR will take its place for a while. BTW that low rider clip you made for the OD-1 makes it a much nicer knife to carry. The mounting method you came up with, while unorthodox, works like a charm.

Check is in the mail; anything else you need from me?
