My birthday is right around the corner and the gun show is this weekend, so I was thinking of buying myself a birthday present. Leaning toward another shotgun. Recently bought a converted Saiga 12 and like it, but need a back up. Want an autoloader. Leaning toward either the Akdal 1919 or the Mossberg 930. Had a 930 and sold it, because it didn't have the ghost rings. Otherwise, I really liked it, but the Akdal is tempting. Let's hear your opinions?

Thanks,

P.S. Recently scored a Pork Shank and really like the little bugger:)

I doubt benelli will interest him, if he likes mossberg. Don't get me wrong I have had a few. Great hunting gun. And I want to buy a conversion kit with 18" slug barrel and pistol grip stock.

I have no idea about bang bangs, but the Pork Shank on the other hand - bloody awesome knife!

 on the Pork Shank

Benelli M1, M3 or M4 .... THEY ALL ROCK. Only 7 moving parts in the action. Feeds everything in any order, High or Low Brass even mixed

M1 you can get a Field Barrel for it to go along with the 18" Combat Barrel.

I have first hand experience with the moss and the ben. I have been hunting waterfowl with a friend. Instead of me using my 870 he ley me use his 930 while he uses his ben Vinci. The other guy uses a sbe2.
The moss ain't a bad gun but for reliability you flat out cant beat the ID operating system. I have seen those guns full of black swamp water be pulled up and fired without drain time. Plus they have a awesome feature that alows you to keep the gun from using out of the mag tube so it fires a single shot. Hit a button and it feeds oit of the tube again.

mossberg has 5 :p just saying

It's the only autoloader I'd trust my life to. Pricey... but your life is worth it.

For pump guns I still like the ol 870.

.

if you dont use low brass the mossberg will out perform the FN SLP with ease, my 930 has never ever had a single hiccup on high brass loads. on the other hand finding a low brass number 8 shot that works in it is like finding a busse folder.....

I have had Benelli, Mossburg, Remington, Winchester, Browning, and Beretta auto's and pumps....the one that was the best for me as far as reliability, accuracy with both buckshot and slugs, as well as ergonomics and customer support is the FN SLP....by far the best self defense shotgun of the crowd, pump or auto...

The kel-tech that I handled at the SHOT show last year had feeding problems at their demonstration table....if you can't get it to feed right at the shot show, you probably should have left it with the engeneering department until they got it right.... had serious reliability issues....I would not trust my life to it by any means.....cool concept but not a mature design yet.
y means.....

Yes, they had issues 2 or 3 years ago at SHOT, but that was 2 or 3 years ago and things change or get fixed. Just ask Apple :)
I have one and it is a house sweeper at a 26" total length.
I have no regrets, but I also have a Benelli ;)

Unless you have a Kel Tech KSG where you can run from 1 3/4" up to 3" in any order. Up to 23 rounds @ 1 3/4"

Sorry, I put Mossburg, Kimber, Savage and Dodge all in the same group...The group I never own on purpose ;)

dont forget ford and Springfield then :p

Well, you can never have too many Saigas IMHO ;-)

That being said, i would love to have an Benelli M4, a friend has one, and weight, reliability, quality, all outstanding!

But honestly, if you have a good reliable Saiga already, i would be one of those folks suggesting that everyone should have at least one pumper, too.
