Hi all,
Here are a few pics of my second slip joint folder.
3 15/16" long closed.
1/8 inch thick O-1 blade and spring with etched finish.
nickle silver liners bolsters and pins. brushed finish.
Mammoth ivory scales.
Comments and critique welcome.

Very nice.

The groove in the bolster looked a bit weird at first sight, but after looking at the pics a bit, I think it's good.

Only thing I don't like is the rectangular "shield"?

Kind regards,

Jos

That is awesome! I've made knives for 15 years and have made a few folders. O-1 is my 1st choice of steel. I love everything about it! But I don't hear of many makers making the springs out of it. Would love to hear more about this project. Nice work!

Thanks for the feedback guys..........the shield is there to stay, for better or worse. I am moving on to the next project;)
I just heat treated the backspring the old fashioned way........ hardened and then tempered to a spring temper(purple blue) with a small torch 3 times. Makes a tough spring. The blade underwent a more indepth and precise heat treat.......proper soak time and carefully controlled temps.
Thanks again,
Darcy:)
