I just bought a new craftsman sander that uses 2x42 belts. I'm just now finding out that this is not a popular size. Does anyone have any leads where i can find a good variety of these belts?

Go to www.supergrit.com and request the catalog. I just got mine today and alredy have a sizable list made (hopefully enough to last me a while) thier prices are great and you can get from 24 to 600 grit for the 2 X 42. unlike sears pitiful selection of 50, 80, 120 grit.

I also have one and I had only found 1" belts outside of Sears and they get about $3 a belt.

I now get my belts (and disks) from Supergrit,

You can check their site: www.superrgrit.com

Their prices are anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3rd of Sears. Hope you have good luck with yours...

This is an Edit to my initial reply... Scot's reply above beat me by a couple of minutes... We were both replying at the same time, but he must type quicker...

Ain't this site GREAT, folks fight to beat each other to reply to a question...

Try ebay, do a search for sanding belts. I just bought some there, and it worked out to about $1 per belt.
