Hello everyone, I'm hoping I'm not posting this in the wrong spot, I recently acquired a brand new outlaw by paragon 2x72 grinder. However it has sat for a few years, the guy I got it from never got around to hooking it up. All parts where still in original packing.. so I hooked it up, I have power but motor does not spin, I then read that it should be powered on for an hour to re energize the capacitors... can anyone shed light on this or if I'm missing something. On a side note about 6 years ago I built my own 2x72 grinder using a treadmill motor that works great but was excited to upgrade and now hoping I didn't buy a lemon, any help would be appreciated.

Never heard anything about charging up caps, but I'm far from an expert.

From what I understand, if it has a variable-speed controller, then it probably uses a 3-phase motor (the VS controller converts your single phase 120 or 240VAC input to 3-phase AC output...)

Sorry, that's about all I've got, you're probably far ahead of that already... Got a voltmeter / amprobe? Good luck...

Vfd drives don't like/won't run on gfic outlets, something to check?

Lights on drive?

Will the grinder run with no belt?

Seized bearing in pulley, or motor, or...?

Check what the variable speed is set at. I had an old 3phase fan that would not start on low
