A while ago a friend, who wanted to buy a knife, asked me about the markings on an older CQC6 I had. He wanted to know the details of what the logo said. I got the knife out and was unable to read the logo. Damning my eyes for having the nerve to get old on me, I finally gave up and got out a loupe.

When I put the loupe down on the blade and took a look, I quickly changed my mind about selling the knife. The logo had been put on backwards.

I spoke to Mr. Emerson about it and he described it as a "3:00 am knife." He said that when working late, those kinds of mistakes are going to happen.

I was wondering if anyone else has a knife with such, or another, Oops.

I know since the knife is defective that someone here will offer me $5 or $10 dollars for it. But will you at least pay for shipping??? LOL

Lou,

Just to show you that not all of the Suspects are cheap, I will offer you $20 plus shipping, plus $5 to buy yourself a beer to cry into. :D

Please let me know as this is a limited offer....

Regards,

Ed

PS - well done on getting a "unique" Emerson

If the logo is backwards, then I will allow you to stick me with the knife (owning it, not being penetrated by it) and you will only have to pay me $5.00:rolleyes:

Lou,

I have an Emerson Oops knife. I have a CQC6 marked with "CQC7" on the blade. Thus it became the "CQC67". I believe there were five of them made. I'm not sure where the other four went.

The blade is also bead blasted & shaped like a production blade. There's a long thread where Emerson posted the reason for this.

Thanks for the replies, especially Edmoses and Nimrod who offered to relieve my suffering by taking this piece of junk off my hands.

Ed since I don’t drink beer I’m afraid that I’ll have to turn down your offer.

And Nimrod I don’t think that paying you the paltry sum of $5 is near enough. You’ll have to let me, at least, make a house payment for you AND pay shipping.

Still, it cuts OK I guess. I think I’ll file that logo off so no one finds out what a bozo I am for paying full price for a defective knife.

David T I missed the thread where Emerson discussed your “is it a 6 or is it a 7” problem. Do you have a link??

And if I WAS a willing seller, which I’m not (at least not right now) does anyone have an idea what a willing buyer would be willing to pay for such an “oops?”
