Found 2 knives at a pawn shop, The kershaw is ok but the spyderco can't cut butter and has a little surface rust. Any were i can send it to go get fixed or it not worth it? i paid 6.40 for both knives.

Great finds. Sharpen it up and steel wool the rust away, it will make a fine user.

Send them back to their respective companies and get them sharpened.

They would be good knives to learn how to sharpen on, a 3 dollar beater is a perfect first knife to trial and error so you can get in your groove before you sharpen your nicer knives.

This. Especially since they are nice knives to begin with, just need some love.

i HATE Combo edges, but I would've bought both of them, too! That said, I'd spend the postage and send them both back. They'll probably get cleaned/lubed and adjusted as-needed, OTHER than just sharpened.

give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

Make a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Light a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Anywho, my local gun/knife shop sold me a diamond grit sharpening stone and showed me how to use it. That's your best bet. On my first few tries, I managed to dull the blades, but now I can get them atom splitting sharp. I'm sure my apartment complex loves that.

OP: Being a knife collector, and doing maintenance on said knives, go together like peas and carrots! It's a great skill to have and of great use to anyone. Sharp knives are safe knives. Congrats on your great deals and I hope, if you take the time to learn, that sharpening knives is as stress relieving for you as it is for me.
