Hi, im looking to purchase a new folding knife. I have a Kershaw Skyline and want something similar in size and weight (3.1" 2.5oz). I found the Benchmade 530 and 531 and the Spyderco Salt. Any other suggestion?

Al Mar Ultralight Falcon. Great fit and finish, excellent edge geometry, 3.15" blade and weighs in at a whopping 1.25 ounces.

Centofante 3. 3.125" blade, 2.5 oz. I like it better than the Skyline, and consider them close competitors for that segment. The Delica 4 comes in at 2.3 oz but only a 2.87" blade. It is an awesome little blade, and has a full grip handle despite its shorter blade length. The Spyderco Des Horn is 3.13" long and 2.0 oz, S30V and G10, if you want to not go the FRN route.

Kershaw Leek, Zing, and OD-1 are similar size and weight to the Skyline (the latter two are discontinued, but they can still be found without too much difficulty). The Benchmade Mini-Griptilian also has a similar blade size and is pretty light. The Spyderco Delica is the same size as the Salt and has just over 2.5" of blade (measuring the cutting edge). The Leek, Skyline, Mini-Grip, and Delica are among my favorite EDC knives, although the Caly3 has been getting more pocket time than the Delica recently.

i like the centofante and maybe purchase one in the future but i dont like that it has a pin instead of a screw in the pivot. as for the delica i would like a bigger blade and the des horn i dont like that you cant open it left handed

i really like the od-1 but cant find it for a good price. like the minigrip but want a bigger blade as for the delica as well as the salt i dont like that the edge isnt the complete length of the blade

thanks to all for the suggestions i found some knives that i like and didnt knew about. i think i will wait to find a second hand bm531 or just save for a lot longer. i really like everything about the knife except the price :D in the mean time any other suggestions feel free to tell me about it. thanks

The CRKT Eros is nice small and light. I also have the BM530 and it's a gem. If like the Salt, and want something as rust proof, but a little more exotic, try the Boye dedritic cobalt pocket knives. A classic design honed over the past 25 years to perfection.

The Spyderco Des Horn is a real sleeper which can be had for under $100 with a 3.1" blade of S30V, one of the nicest G-10 finishes on the handle and weighs just 2 ounces. It flicks open fast and smoothly using the hole.

The CRKT Eros is a great little IKBS flipper weighing just 1.5 ounces with a 3" blade of Acuto+ steel. I carry one when exercising and you don't feel it at all plus even with sweat and humidity it's immune to the elements.

In reference to the Centofante 3: I am not all concerned with the pinned construction. It is about as tight as any lock back. I have heard it reported by others, and I agree, that it is the smoothest, least resistance lockback you can buy. You can hold the knife open horizontal and depress the lock and the blade will swing freely closed. No other lock back I have will even come close to doing that. It may be pinned, but they get the action right and then pin her down.
