Hey I was hoping to get some ideas for a 3.5ish midtech flipper, preferably with IKBS or KBS. Less than $300 and totally avoiding ZT. Anything?

Well you aren't going to find anything 'mid-tech' for under $300.

Your best bet is probably a Spyderco if you want to avoid the best productions flippers made. Maybe a Brous Bionic but that might be too small.

Avoid the HTM Gunhammer.

I've got a bionic does anyone know if the T4 is worth it

I have one. I like it a lot. Its not perfect though. The blade finish is pretty poor on my example. The pocket clip is poor. He also puts his detents in a really odd spot given the design of his knives. He could move them to the inside edge of the lockbar so that the detent track isnt visible when the blade is open. The biggest issue I have is with jason himself though. Before I bought my knife he answered all my emails and questions within a few days of me sending them. Now that I actually own one of his knives and sent him emails with concerns as to the blade finish he has not responded. I have sent him 5 emails since christmas. I have pretty much given up and I just wont buy his stuff.

Spyderco Domino or Southard. I prefer the flipping action on the Domino though the Southard took up significantly less pocket real estate. Can those two procreate, please, Spyderco? Both exceedingly well put together/thought out though.

My T4 is just perfect. I love the flipper action which is great for such a big knife. I really like the G-10 scales. Nice sharp blade.

I also have the Division CF, Reloader G-10 and Bionic Acid BlackWashed. I like none of those as they are. The flipper actions are way secondary compared to the T4. First two have blade centering issue and the Bionic just hurts to flip because the flipper is sharp and you can easily not engage it due to the jimping. The Reloader also has offensive and misplaced jimping.

One of these days I'll just send all three in with a note to Jason and await patiently. I got the Division and Reloader in the Spring of last year and Bionic less than a month ago.

If the Mini-Division has the same flipper action as the T4 and no blade centering issue then it's a winner.

I'm beginning to get a feeling that the overall quality of the Brous knives are inconsistent.
