Here is the second of the two whittlers off my bench, the first being the smaller 3 5/8. This whittler is the same length as the popular Bose/Case version, featuring CPM154 blades and springs, along with stag covers. The only coining on this knife is the insider center liner. Thanks for taking the time to take a look.

This is one beautiful knife! A couple questions if I may.
How thick is the main blade at the base?
Do the blades have half stops?
You mention the term coining in your description. What is that referring to?
The fit and finish on this knife looks absolutely perfect! Great job. Everyone would be proud to own it.

That looks like it has very nice fit and finish. Is that blade as thick as it looks? :D

Superb whittler, Ken! Thanks for sharing. Always a pleasure to see your knives over here.

The blade tang thickness for this pattern is .210, of course the master blade is really only .095 after it steps down. The two secondary blades on this knife do have half-stops.

Coining refers to the perpendicular lines in the edge of a liner or center liner. Many Sheffield made pocket knives featured coining. So called as it is similar to the treatment given coins, such as a USA quarter or dime. Below is a picture of my coining on an earlier whittler that I made.

Ken, I love the version with stag covers almost as much as the tortoise version. When you post your work I always find myself coming back to look again and again. Thanks for sharing your work in this forum.

I love seeing all the fixed blade and modern folders but my love of knives started with the more traditional folders.

Thank you for posting this beautiful whittler! The cam is matching the relieved area very closely, it is very pleasing to look.
I also like very much how you managed to keep the gap of the unlocking tab to the minimum. It is very difficult and i need many more folder under the belt before try a lockback :)

I love all of your creations but, this has got to be one of my favorites. Love the stag, love the wharnie... Just really all around great!

Wow that is an amazing looking knife! If I may ask what would the price be on this or a simlar piece??
