I'm surrounded!

Friendly forumites in Albuquerque and Colorado sucking up all the good stuff.

(need to invest in a vault - not too many caves in this part of NM)

:D :D

No caves up her on the Pinyon Mesa either. Pinons, sandstone and hearing the neighbor slamming his door a mile away, but no caves.:D

makes me hate to go into town. Loud and not as many stars.

Isn't it nice to look up and see the STARS!

Pretty quiet around here, except when the wind is blowing from the South and South West and the 18 wheelers roar from I40 about a mile as the crow flies away from me.

Yup. I'm in no hurry to get away from you guys. It's too nice out here in the desert Southwest. Even when the dust blows and windchill goes negative.

Stars and solitude are quite a treat.

Todachi NM dont forget Uncle's moving away sale. 20% off a $150 18" Chitlangi is only $120. 20% off a $145 M43 is $116. And then there's his real great deal, the Bura Kat. Ah..if only I hadnt already blown the toy fund for the year:( Hey wait a minute, I blew it on some real nice stuff, so what am I frowning about:D

Seems to be some guys around who understand what sand and sky can bring to an ache and what peace to a Soul.

..but if you listen real hard, you can hear the 7-Elevens and the Big Mac's a coming. We just enjoy what we can while we're here and hope the future will find its way.

Do you know that there are people who've never been alone, without sound or sight of us, never stayed outdoors at night by themselves?

Sure you know them. They're the ones whose votes help pass foolish things like hunting bans and gun restrictions....

It makes my blood rrun a bit cold to think what this country and the world are turning into. I remember times even in war, being able to lay on your back and look up at the stars. All this crap going on down here and look at that sight up there.

Then, some youg gent asks me if I wouldn't want to be young again. No, I wouldn't want to have to watch this happening to my country again. Especially knowing that it is probably going to get worse before it gets better, if, it gets any better. From the way things are going right now it looks to be doing nothing but getting bad.

:D

The young ones are arriving in the Age Of Terror, Pappy. I have nothing to offer them other than my love, any small wisdom I've aquired, several Khukuris and various firearms each. I'm hoping the love lasts them forever and the firearms long enough to guarentee a tommorow.

Nice stuff and a little sad stuff. Not a lot of stars in Reno but I've got those mental images of moonlight on the Himalayas that will be with me forever.

I wish I could see the stars from the Himalayans. I saw them from the middle of Nevada once and that sight has never been equaled.

Oh, I call those haredned urbanites. They're bred to forage the concrete jungle, living off of other humans. Some think this is the way of things.

Here here. I must say the if we grew up in any time other than our own, it would be much the same. I'm sure the english of 1350s were lamenting war, and the black plague, squalor, and lack of food. But they, too, looked up at the stars, and wondered...

I hope you are right, Keith. I hope that is all it is, just another generation's struggles.

Just stepped outside my door and saw a few. Full moon out, but longer I stayed outside the more stars kept showing up as my night vision adjusted.

Relax munk, the stars are still there in west central Nevada, not far east of Aurora and Bodie here at the south end of Walker Lake. One of these nights I ought to head up over Lucky Boy pass and look from a couple thousand feet higher elevation.

On the back side of a holy mountain not far away there's an old dance circle. Sometime, one of these times, Yvsa.

Uncle hasn't said it in a while so I'll say it for him. " What has this got to do with khukuris? Everything. "
