Maybe this kind of Axis :confused:

Other example of Axis I disorders are as follows:

Mood Disorders (major depression, bipolar disorder, etc.)
Eating Disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, etc.)
Psychotic Disorders
Dissociative Disorders
Substance Use Disorders
 
axis, axes can be the plural form. it was a play on words, i suppose it was an attempt at some geometry related humor.

That explains why I didn't get it.
For me the only meaning of the word axis is the axis powers of ww2.
I'm sure I was taught geometry but I had to take algebra 1 a few times, so I definitely didn't take geometry class specifically.
