Today my wife stopped at a yard sale in the neighborhood. While there she called me to say that they had some old knives. One was a Case Hammerhead with leather pouch, and the other was a U.S.A. marked Gerber Multitool. She bought them for $3 each. Both will clean up like new. Not bad for $6. Just wanted to share my excitement. The Hammerhead will make a nice little addition to my Man Cave display.

Edit to add: Forgot to mention the Hammerhead is 1989 vintage. Pictures on wipe-down rag background look pretty lousy, but here it is...

Why can't I find anything like this in my area?

Nice haul at a great price!

Very nice grab! I see those quite often at antique stores and fleamarkets around here, but they normally carry a $50+ price tag!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments (and so does my wife:)). I knew it was a good deal, but $50+ makes it a really good deal.

Wow, outstanding deal! I found one of those for $10, in used shape, and thought I got a great deal. And I agree, the wife definitely sounds like a keeper. My wife would probably do the opposite, and NOT tell me if she saw any knives...

Nice knife at an incredible price. My uncle had one of those for deer hunting. He rarely used it though. He always cleaned deer with his sodie. Drove me nuts.

Nice find.

Awesome find! I would polish that puppy up and give it a nice edge, maybe even carry it a bit before moving it to the display.

Thanks again for all of the comments.

No, I didn't take a picture of the Gerber, but having now done a little research on it, I've found that it is a M600 Sportman. Economy model. It has an awl, but no scissors or saw. Also, I noticed that they are still stamping U.S.A. on the current production Gerbers so my original thinking that this Gerber was a little older, doesn't seem to be the case. Regardless, it wiped down nicely, and other than a few specks here and there it looks virtually brand new. I think it will become a vehicle glovebox tool.

Those are great glovebox additions, even the newer ones. Nice find on the knives and the wife!
