I've been looking for a good quality khukuri since I got my condor khuk. I love the design, but I realized right away that you get what you pay for. I saw the 3 chirra khukuri at KHHI and everyone seems to think its pretty great. I would like something big heavy and thick, but I would love to keep it around $120. I'm sure that many of you here would recomend HI but they seem a bit more expensive. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestion. Any pics in action would be awesome as well :)

Hi there,

I've tested KHHI Tin Chirra (tin=3 in Devanagari) and the balance felt weird. Too much vibrations on wrist after chopping but I must say some of KHHI's ideas and products are amazing. I can tell why you like it; the fullers are just simply beautiful.

On a whole, maybe you should read my review:

You are spoiled for choices but i won't name the brands.

I'm going to have to do my homework. Thanks for the review, any other suggestions would be great. I have some time since I'm waiting on my bonus check from work :D

HI is definitely a good place to start (check out the deal of the day threads in the HI subforum). You can definitely get an HI for 120 or under, and Auntie is fantastic. I'd give her an email and check and see what she's got that might be available in your price range.

Some suggestions: chiruwa Ang Khola (CAK), WWII, Amar Singh Thapa (ASTK), Dui Chirra, etc.

My personal favorite is the 18" ultimate fighter. But not sure how good of a camp knife it is...
