I base my collection around the 3" closed mark but I'd realy like a lambs foot model

Did anyone - in particular in Sheffield ever makes such a model - so far the smallest I've found is around 3.5" closed

Thanks Darren, you'll struggle to find one Corso. I think the smallest contemperary Lambsfoot is about 3 14" closed.

Its one of the reasons why I want one I was just hoping that one would fit into my #14 collection

Looks like the Custom road is the only route to take for this one.

Knives with a Lambfoot blade appear to go with frames (Pruner or Straight) in the approx 3.25-4.25 range. Smaller seems unlikely as these were work-knives, farm or garden etc.

I was thinking more

That's a bit of an ambiguous reference ;):D The Pied Piper of Hamelin may have got rid of the rats but he led the children to their doom too in revenge....;)

Corso, the only Lambsfoot style knives I've seen in that size are made by South African knifemaker, Cor van Elinckhuijzen. They're not 'canonical' Lambsfoot knives, but I daresay they might reference the original pattern, which seems to have appeared in South Africa.

I don't know anything more about the maker, but that would be a start.

Chin, I think the posts I’ve quoted below might be the ones you’re looking for re: the small South African Lambsfoot. Unfortunately the link now leads to nowhere, and a quick Google search of Cor van Ellinckhuijzen didn’t turn up much. He has a Facebook page, but there not much there, just a few photos, including this one.

Honestly, your best bet would probably just be to go for one of the 'small pruner' A. Wright Lambsfoot knives. They're a little bit shorter than the 'standard' 3.5" models, but they're a fair bit more slender when you compare them side by side.

Yes Will... but a sweet, sweet Lambsfoot totin' doom!:D:eek:;)

Thanks for ther info so far.

Does anyone have a 3 1/4 Lambsfoot and GEC #14 in the same photo?

C Corso - presume you've handled a Lambsfoot..? If not, send me your address over on EM under 'Contact the Admins' (no-one else can see/read what's in these posts at all) and I'll lend you one of my A Wright models.......handle is 3-1/2" but blade 2-3/4"

Thanks for the pictures just what I need

Snapped quickly but hope they gave you an idea. Included were the 14 as asked and another 'small' the legendary CASE Swayback :) plus what I think is the smallest Lambfoot currently available the Wright's Pruner model.

Hi Chui

sorry missed your post

Thanks for the offer but I think I might have already secured one

The Ashley's Choice lambsfoot SFO that Jack ordered was pretty small. They were a little less than 3.5" weren't they?

I think I have a solutuion - I just need to find a donor knife thats in decent enough condititon to mod the blade and yet not too decent to feel like changing it would spoil it :D
