Heres my 3 day gear. Finally got myself a good camera so I was having fun with it. First pic is gear that I carry in a German alpine rucksack. The 2nd pic is gear I keep on my body. This is a 3 season loadout, no way Id use it for winter here in N GA.

Edited to add a pic of my hunting/hiking and camping buddy, belle.

What's in the camo pouch? Mind posting a list of the load out as well? Not sure what some of the stuff is in the pics, but it looks pretty solid as far as I can tell.

Not 100% certain of your gear without a list but would add a closed cell pad and replace those Ramen noodles with something better. I have some thin nylon cord in my little survival stuff sack cuz there isn’t enough room for 550 but in a larger system consider some paracord. If the Mag is an older incan model Lowes has a sale on the newer Rebel LED 2xAA mini Mag for 10 bucks. More runtime/lumens and the bulb won’t break. Are those socks wool or synthetic? I would avoid cotton.

I like the Glock. Is it a 17?

6shooter> Sure Ill make a list, give me a few mins.

banana> I carry it in a german alpine rucksack.

Woods> I carry ramen noodles and beef jerky(left it out of the pic) for my dinners(got that from dave canterbury). I have a maglite solitaire I also carry in my camo pouch. The socks are wool, 85% blend I believe. Yes, the glock is a 17, sometimes Ill carry a 26(my normal EDC) or a S&W model 19-3(.357 mag).

Ok heres the list for my loadout.

Rucksack:
ground blanket, tarp, fleece bag
katadyn pro water filter, 2 quarts water
wool socks, leather gloves
first aid kit, fire starting kit and personal hygiene kit
polycarbonate fork and spoon, coleman max stove, coleman max pot set(from walmart, only carry the large pot and lid)
3 servings instant grits stored inside the pot, 3 lunches(beanie weenies, chicken salad, etc), 3 energy bars, 3 packs of ramen noodles, 3oz bottle of honey
estwing sportsmans axe, nylong string, fishing kit, minimaglite, spare batts, paracord

***not pictured: 3 servings beef jerky, few spare batteries, 30' paracord

In my camo pouch(my essentials kit): 2 pair latex gloves, 100' nylon string, whisle/compass/magnifying lense combo tool, water filter straw, firekit, disposable poncho, bandana, sharpening stone, assorted zip ties, water purifying tabs, signal mirror, duct tape wrapped around old debit card and a tiny first aid kit.

In list form it looks like alot of weight. But everything that will be on me(not including clothes and wallet) comes in right at 26 lbs. I may have forgot a few things off my list, so I might have to edit it.

I am going to disagree with Dave’'s advice on the Ramen. I would recommend replacement with some Lipton side dishes or maybe freeze dried foods like Mountain House. The Idahoan mashed potatoes packets are also nice as all yea need to do is boil some water and dump the contents and mix. They cook up very very fast. I like pepperoni myself for the higher fat content but also eat summer sausage and bear jerky

A maglight solitaire has very little runtime/lumen output for a 1XAAA light. Maybe consider replacement with a Fenix E01. It will run at high for nearly 10 hours regulated (doesn't dim) with a moon mode for an additional 10 hours. These are only 12-15 dollars and are totally bombproof.

Woods> I used to carry nothing but mountainhouse, but that gets expensive. Then I started using the lipton dishes and now Im onto ramen noodles. Im trying to keep dinners as cheap as possible. I even carry spaghetti os with meatballs sometimes. lol

That flashlight looks pretty spiffy. Im all about some maglite solitaires, but Ill probably check out the fenix when I get itching to get some new gear.

I second the E01, I have them everywhere in my house and truck.

Is this for a 3-day hike, or a 3-day survival bag?

What kind of bug protection do you use and what months of the year are bugs a
problem?

FNC> I have single use bug wipe towelettes that came in the first aid kit.

sodak> I use a blackhawk serpa for both my glocks. When I wanna carry my glock with a light on it I use a cheapie molle holster from cheaperthandirt, it works pretty good.

mmmmmmm....That's childhood goodness to me. Been a long time but I used to carry them on hikes occasionally. Crack open the can and eat cold. Yum! I've got the craving.

I'm checking them out, thanks!

Throw some tabasco sauce in the can, and I'm right there with you!
