Had a few hours to hit the woods today and thought I would work on my fire starting skills. We have had about 5" of rain since Friday, so i had to really look around to find my tinder.

I hunted down some of my favorite starter and was able to find a handful of dry palm hair

I than found some dead fall and started batoning some pieces to get to the dry centers

Here is a shot of everything laid out

Here is my tinder bundle ready for the spark

Success!

Here is fat boy by the fire!

Tea Time

It is always good to get out in the woods!

I think you have to have a paying membership to post photos. However the links work!

You look to be a few miles south from my location.

Looks like a blast of a day and thanks for sharing.

Cool pics, I love making fires and just to sit by them and relax and just enjoy the outdoors is so cool.

Thanks for sharing your day out.

hey nice Scrapyard S5!

might want to resize yer pics down to abotu 900 x 900 or so....they be a bit too big right now....

LOL!

Yeah, I am having some photo difficulties today.

The Scrapyard is a great blade. One of the better production type blades I have. Still hoping to get some custom steel from the talented gentleman that frequent this forum tho.

Great job. I would have to agree with Sicily, not much else can beat sitting by a fire and watching the world go by.

+1 Please resize, I bet they are nice pics, but way to large to view on 1 screen.

Sucess with fire in wet weather is always good though
