I've been thinking about all the different (16) slippies that I have and trying to determine my favorite patterns. Which ones I carry the most and have the most meaning to me.
1. Medium Stockman
Always with me. Three blades that will meet any need.
2. Barlow
A timeless classic. Reminds me of my Grandfather and Uncles and all the
priceless lessons they have passed on to me.
3. Peanut
My first knife and still my favorite. Not too many things that I can't
handle with my Peanut.
What are your favorite patterns?

#1-- 5 1/4" Coke Bottle Clip blade, long pull, swedged. Carry in back pocket..

# 2-- 3 3/8" Barlow 2 bladed, Clip blade, long pull, swedged. Pen blade in back, opposite side crescent nail notch. Carry in Watch pocket Jeans..

# 3-- 3 1/2" Gunstock Jack, 2 bladed Clip blade, long pull, swedged,Pen in back, opposite side crescent nail notch. Carry in right front pocket..

Right now my favorites seem to be:

Muskrat
Stockman/ sowbelly stockman
Trapper (R1123 or R1173 related- ie: Mountain Man etc.)

But I'm always trying out new patterns, and my list could change at any time. It's a hard question- there are a lot of nice patterns out there. It seems the more I try, the further away I get from picking a favorite. I guess I'm fickle.

Hard to make an exact list, but here's a guestimate of my favorites:

1- Drop point hunter
2- Senator (equal-end pen knife)
3- Medium stockman (like the 34OT). My favorite of these is the Case with the rounded bolsters.

are as follows, tough choice though:
Medium Sodbuster (yeller please)
Elephant Toenail/Sunfish (dont have one yet:mad:)
Easy Open Jack (love my beat up old Camillus:thumbup:)
not too practical for most, maybe im just weird:D
cheers

1) 3 1/4" stockman round bolsters with pen
2) Single spring serpentine jack with turkish clip and pen on end
3) Slim line single blade trapper

trapper
medium stockman
single blade scagel.

if i had more i'd like a:
saddle horn
sowbelly
trapper

mini-trapper
peanut
senator

would like to buy and try:

dogleg jack
swayback gents (single wharncliffe blade)
-- just because they're different

Case small stockman-I cannot leave the house without it!
Case Jack knife
Kabar 1187 drop point

but I also have my Leatherman multi tool too.

but it will change next week.
Waiting on Case Dr. and desperately seeking a muskrat.

This is what finds most pocket time:

1. 3 1/4" stockman
2. 3 1/2" Jack with second pen blade (Dogleg or Texas)
3. Single Blade (Slimline Trapper or Cooperhead)
4. 4" Half Congress

Moose- preferable an equal end(I know, I know, not strictly a moose if its an equal end..) in the 4" range. The two long blades, perfect for my uses. No reason for it, but I prefer the blades opening at opposite ends..

Peanut- Pocketable in anything, really enough knife for almost all tasks- and satisfies the minimalist when I need to. main reason it come in behind the moose is the short handle is lacking at times..

Large two blade folding hunter- My Dad has one, carried it for years- the knife that inspired me into folders, and in turn into slipjoints... Comes in last though 'cause its oposite the peanut; too big a lot of the time.

Stockman: The size (Large med or small) is great for day to day chores and the variety of blades his very handy...
Trapper: Does all my outdoor duties very well and just feels great in the hand.
Sunfish or Elephant toe: Because of it's strange shape it's just a great knife to fiddle around with and it cuts stuff too!!! :D

Barlow - sentimental favorite, first knife Dad gave me was a barlow pattern
Sodbuster - hardest working slipjoint I have ever owned
Peanut - my go to when dressed in nice clothes

Those who see the inside of my pockets include

Single Blade Slimline Trapper/Utility
Mini Copperlock
3.25 Stockman
GE No.73 Liner lock

A recent Barlow frequently tags along for the ride as well:D

Sorry, you said three...well, the first three then
