Disclaimer: I did this because my knife is a blem and carries no warranty. It is always the BEST option to let Kershaw/ZT fix your knife. If your knife a blem or you cannot send it in for warranty, this is a safe and easy fix.

I made a thread a while back about my 0551 having a problem with up/down blade play. I was asking for ideas from you guys on how I could fix this myself as my knife carries no warranty. I tried bending the lock bar over further, which temporarily fixed the problem, but came back after a few weeks of use. Then one gentleman gave me the idea to use shrink wrap, which did work. But after putting it on it began to get loose and they would fall off. I then learned about shrink wrap with adhesive, and I finally got my hands on some. I picked up way more than I needed at a local electronics store for $3 and gave it a shot. It worked BEAUTIFULLY! And it looks pretty good too IMO, especially with the scale being black. I think it also adds a sort of "shock absorber" system similar to the o-rings on the CRK Umnumzaan. For reference, I used 1/4" adhesive shrink wrap for this. I did this yesterday and have carried the knife since, and there's no hint of them coming loose yet. I'll try to keep everyone informed how long they stay put.

On to the pictures.

I'll bump this thread back up for anyone that hasn't seen it. Also, I bought more shrink wrap today so if anyone needs any and cannot find it local, I will send some to you as long as you're in the CONUS. I'd appreciate it if you would check around locally first to save me a trip to the post office haha.
