I just returned from my Honeymoon in Maui where I exclusively carried H1s. Specifically, an Atlantic, a Pacific and a WARRIOR:

:)

The best part about this is we literally had nothing to cut with in the condo so my wife used the Warrior every single day for fruit, fish, bread, cheese, etc. SHE loved the Warrior and I got to use "food prep" as an excuse for bringing it with me ;)

I will say that everything held up perfectly in the salt and sand except for the standard "red haze" on the "1" which I quickly busted off with edge of a dime.

Back to the grind...

Did you put all three of those knives in your check-in luggage? Could you talk about how you packed them for the trip? I've heard of knives being stolen out of checked baggage. Was that a concern?

Yes, absolutely. What I've done in the past and again on this trip was separate the knives and put folders in my sock rolls and fixed blades in my pile of underwear. It hasn't failed me yet!

That's good to know. I haven't traveled with any of my knives(as a matterof fact I haven't been on a plane in years) and I'm traveling this December. I was always concerned about my knives being taken. I'll try what you're doing.

I know my bags have been opened too because I get that "inspected by TSA" pamphlet jammed somewhere. I've traveled with Umnumzaans and custom fixed blades this way and always come out with them. It is a risk, just hide whatever you can. On long trips I'll usually just USPS my gear to where I'm staying just to cut down on the extra bag costs.

Safe travels

Thanks!

I'm probably going to just bring one of my cheaper Chinese knives or my kershaw chill anyway. They'll handle a lot of what I'm going to be doing anyway.

Can't believe you carried that big of a fixed blade in Hawaii, I never see anyone carrying a fixed blade here
