These are 3 Randalls that came with a very nice inherited collection. Can I get some help identifying the models? Any other info on the knives would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Top knife, 1st photo - Randall Model #4-6 'Big Game and Skinner'; middle knife, Randall Model #3-5 'Hunter', bottom Knife, Randall Model #20 'Yukon Skinner', likely the most valuable. All are pre 1973. Do you have the sheaths as well?

The three knives I want on my hip as I'm hunting Elk/Moose in the great northwest. What a fantastic group of blades.

driftless, post some photos of the sheaths and sharpening stones when you have a chance - include photos of the text on the stones, clear enough to show the type and color. That will greatly heklp identify approximately when the knives were made.

Here are photos of one. more to come.

Cool - the first two are mid to late 1960's vintage, the third is early 1960's, pre 1964. All are keepers.

Thanks. On another thread a couple of folks expressed some doubt re: the authenticity of the model 20. Here are a couple of the comments. Any thoughts on all of this? Because this is part of an OLD inherited collection with many top notch fine knives I seem to think it has to be the real thing. But, what do I know?

"Randall fakes are 'out there'. I'm very far from being fully knowledgeable about Randall knives but this one gives me some doubt as to being "Randall Made".
This is sticking my neck out. It may well get chopped off so don't despair yet."

"The grind is not quite right, but I think that is due to wear, or re-finishing."

"Yes, it's the blade grind that appears different from other forged Randall blades i've seen (or own)."

"I think what's happening is that it's an earlier model and you're seeing variation that is sometimes seen in the earlier models. It's also a bit washed out, but it looks more from honest wear, than something hinkey."

The Model 20 knife is fine, they know not of what they speak. On a side note, here is a Model #4-6 I recently picked up that was made around the same timeframe as yours. Note the similar blade choil shape...

If the Model #20 ever comes up for sale in the Exchange (For Sale) section here at BFC, let me know; I'd like to have a chance to add it to my own collection... :)
