3 knives

As much as I love knives, I only buy what I think I will need. My cold steel recon scout for camping/survival, my becker necker w/ kabar ankle rig, for sketchy situations, and my kabar d2 extreme fighter, for, well, hopefully I'll never know.
Besides your collectables, (I know most of you are collectors), what knives do you guys 'need'?
 
I've been using the sh!t out of my benchmade 53 Balisong, but my vic climber is probably all the knife I'll ever really 'need'
 
Victorinox Stylus, for using with the PDAs at work.
AG Russell Hunters Scalpel for hiking, camping, motorcycling.

That's all I 'need', although I'd certainly miss the razor-sharp Opinel that I keep as a spare.
 
my 551 griptilian, leatherman old wave and lastly my ontario tak1... the 3 i would bet my life on and have been through hell and back with me.
 
Mission Knives MPK10-Ti and Leatherman Wave. With these two I'd go till the end of the world.

For EDC I use a SOG Visionary I /Benchmade Mini-Gripptilian (and soon a Delica). I gave up EDCarring larger folders...
 
DUDE! Only 3 knives? Jeezuz, that's like living without testicles!

If forced to pick, I guess it's be my Kabar Potbelly, Kershaw Skyline, and Leatherman Skeletool.
 
Well, before I get interested in knives, I survived with just a SAK
in my pocket for over 25 years.
I reckon in an urban environment, that’s all one would need.

However, at the moment, I think to need and I use:
1. Leatherman Juice CS4 and a Pohl Force Bravo Outdoor for EDC.
2. Lionsteel Opera, which replace the Bravo if I wear a suit.
3. Cheap Doctor’s knife (Frost) on my coffee table for cutting cigars.
4. Sanrenmu at the hallway, to open letters and boxes.
5. Pohl Force Alpha two, if I need a sturdy knife at the building sites.
6. Schrade Extreme Survival SCHF9, if I need an even sturdier knife.
7. Leatherman Charge, for work at home or at the office.
8. Lionsteel Mini, if I feel bored by carrying the Opera.
 
I guess I really only need these three....

my Nimravus was my "1 knife", but it's been replaced by my ESEE 5. i can carry that concealed or openly, with relative comfort. i need a smaller "secondary" knife, my BM710 fits the bill. i'd be fine, with just those two, but if i could grab a 3rd, it'd be either my Aussie Bowie or my SP42

a couple years ago, i travelled to a developing country that was in the middle of a conflict with it's neighbor. i took a Benchmade Nimravus and a Bradley Kimura.
 
My Winkler Knives II belt knife is always whit me sine I got it a month ago. It serves a utilitarian and a defensive purpose. Mi gerber multi tool and mi small Cold Steel mini pal are whit me as well. My sayoc winkler tomahawk comes whit me on the really bad nights.
