This is one of two prized knives I currently have. The other is the limited edition ZT0600. Prized possessions notwithstanding, both knives are rotated for daily edc carry. And that is between themselves as my other knives just sit in their cases inside my nightstand.
Sometimes I take the SR-1 out of my pocket while sitting in the vehicle as we go down the road, or if we are in a parking lot and I am waiting, just so I can open it and admire it, rub my fingers down the blade, check out the perfect fit and finish it has, and to slice up bits of paper i find in the car. I also do the same thing with my ZT0600.
A little over a year ago I suffered a spinal stroke that left me unable to walk on my own. I can walk using a walker, but usually I go with the wheelchair because it is faster, or for larger stores I use the motorized carts these stores provide, and sometimes I just sit in the car in the parking lot and play with my knives.
But on to the review. As far as a daily edc goes for me, I simply have little to do that calls for a knife, but that doesn't stop me from carrying one. Many of the higher end knives I buy are like works of art, especially the SR-1 D's, they are just beautifully crafted. The SR-1 has held it's own through daily flipping with the lockbar lining up on the blade tang in the exact same spot as it did the day I removed it from the box. Centering has not moved at all and the blade is hair popping sharp. No matter how hard I try, I can not get the blade to move at all. Even with well over a thousand openings and closing, the lockbar is still as stiff as it was when I received it. Far as I'm concerned, the SR-1 shows Italian craftsmanship to it's fullest!!
