Ok everyone, I am on the hunt for a good EDC and woods walker that can comfortably ride horizontal belt carry front or back.
I have a few that I am looking at, and welcome any ideas. I also don't mind grabbing more than one if the budget allows.

Runners up:
Esee Izula II
Tops MSK
Becker BK14
Cold Steel Mini Pendleton
Survive Knives 2.7 (A little more than I want to spend, but maybe some day)

If you own any of these I would love your pros and cons.

Thanks everyone.

I carry an Izula II and my wife carries an Izula. They are very durable and will withstand a lot of abuse. Nothing negative in my experience.

When you just say 3" one assumes you are talking about blade length. Check out the TOPS/Buck CSAR-T LIason fixed blade.

I have a BK-14 but the Liason is a bit more compact, versatile and concealable for EDC. Exactly the size you want, very tough, good edge. It has the most minimal (yet sturdy and tight fitting) kydex sheath I've seen. With the addition of two zip ties through the sheath grommets it becomes one of the slickest horizontal belt carry small blades I know of. Also has a handle conducive to a nice paracord or leather wrap if you prefer.

If you want to go higher end $$, check the Bradleys and Enzos for some very nice knives.

Of the ones you listed, I only have the Mini Pendleton, which I've been carrying ever since I got it several months back.

Pros are that it's small, light, but still feels capable and available in VG-1 (uncoated) or 3V (DLC coated) now. I have the VG-1 version and don't worry about getting caught in a rain storm (which is happening just about every day lately) and the knife getting/staying wet until I have a chance to dry it off.

Cons have to do with the sheath. It doesn't come with a way to carry it horizontally; you'd have to rig something up. And the part that attaches the nylon belt loop to the sheath screws on and the tightness of those screws does seem to affect knife retention. I imagine the nylon loop could be cut off and either zip ties or paracord run through the way EChoil described for the Liaison up there would work.

Also, some people have said that Cold Steel's Secure-ex sheaths can dull edges, though I haven't really experienced this because I tend press the spine against the inside as I slide the knife back in.
