All good reads. Thanks for posting. I spend a lot of time in the middle of no where so I always like to read these stories, you learn something from each one! Glad the guy didn't use a tourniquet...

Here is a story that happened last spring close to where I live. Pretty crazy, 4 hours of cpr with no vital signs http://globalnews.ca/news/1251968/calgary-woman-miraculously-survives-being-trapped-in-tree-well-near-whistler/

That woman is beyond lucky! Those whislter SAR guys are nothing short of amazing.

Here's another good one from here in SF, 72 year old survives almost 3 weeks in the mendocino forrest.

What? Where are the bigger chopper knives that saved the day? We all know big chopper knives are the difference between life and death in a survival situation. Maybe they just didn't get into the story because it would scare the "sheeple" reading it?
