16.5 ww2?

If got msg in time may take trip to Reno tomorrow.

Rusty, I know you like WWll 16.5 inchers. But..how many do you have? Do they all 'sing' to you? Are they a chorus?

If I'd have waited I'd now have a second 16.5 inch Bura WW2 instead of one 16.5" Bura and a 16.5" Sher ( when I pick it up. )

The Sher will be my backup 16.5 WW2. I had one 16.5 WW2 Bura but it ended up with one of Sarge's knuckleheads. I only got the other 16.5 Bura a few months back after what seemed like a year's wait.

I got a Sher wood handled 18" WW2, and it's very nice but doesnt have the right feeling/balance. I grabbed for a Bura 16.5 WW2, and Uncle inadvertently sent a 18" Bura WW2 instead. I think I spent 2 weeks trying to make my mind up to send it back or to buy it. I finally decided to keep it after 2 weeks stewing for hours every day trying to make my mind up. So I have 2 18" WW2's, a Bura 16.5" and now a Sher 16.5 as soon as I pick it up.

The 18" Sirupati almost matches the feel or the 16.5" WW2 to me. So of khuk's I'd grab for list follows:

1) 16.5 Bura WW2.

2 and 3) tie - til I get it tomorrow - 18" Bura Sirupati and 16.5" Sher still in Reno.

4 and 5) tie: 18" WW2 horn handled Bura WW2 and 18" wood handled Sher WW2. I've recut the rings on the Sher and both feel wonderful in a diffent way - for 18"ers.

munk: as far as singing:

1) 16.5 Bura WW2 - baritone
2) 16.5 Sher WW2 - ???
3) 18" Bura Sirupati - baritone to second tenor.
4) 18" Bura WW2 Baritone to high bass.
5) 18" Sher WW2 Baritone to high bass.

Next question? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

BTW: I have one 12" AK and an AK Bowie. Period, no other AK's at all.

Any questions; yeah, only I can't put em in order...

For me, the 18" WWll is about ideal. 16 is too short, at least the BAS I owned was too short, and the Sher 15 AK was too short.

I have a chiruwa 16" Bura Ak that does feel alright.

One of these days I'll grab a 16.5 WWll and see. I need to replace the WWll 18, I gave both mine away.

The thing I've noticed about khuks is sometimes a certain model surprises you and breaks all the rules about what it was you thought you had to have and how it was to swing. The khuks tell you how they swing.

...and Rusty, I'm not sure I have a favorite Kami. It is impossible not to admire Bura, but Sher's stuff seems more utilitarian to me, as did Kesar before. I like Kumar and look forward to his stuff. Sanu was classy...and on and on.

My Bura 16" chiruwa AK will stay with me to the grave.

Of course some come along and change everything you thought you knew. Those are the magic ones.
