It has been 3 weeks since I picked up my large ironwood inlayed Sebenza at the Blade Show. Must say that I am still fascinated with this one! I really appreciate the precision with which this knife is constructed. I have pretty much carried this one exclusive of all my other knives. The wood inlays give the handle just enough extra thickness to really feel good in my hand. So far I have been lucky, knock on my woody, and not scratched the blade, handle, or dinged the ironwood inlays in any way. This thing still looks as good as the day I got it. One thing I have noticed with the Sebenza's is that when opened and laid down on a counter top or table top is the "glass- like" sound they make. Never had another knife sound quite like they do. Lockup on this one has not changed one iota and it has been opened over a hundred times, if not more! The lockbar still falls in the same spot as the first time I opened it 3 weeks ago.
The edge still pops the hair off my arm, at least what little hair I still have!
I have picked up a couple of Microtechs, L-UDT and a LCC/DA, along with a BM 942 since getting the woody but have not found myself carrying them although all three are great knives. The woody just has a hold of me and it may be awhile before anything replaces it!
