I started making knives. I wonder how much money I've wasted. :D

Seems longer than that, but I checked back on one of my first threads and it was in Dec. of '02 when I was asking about using a 1-inch grinder. Damn, it has been a blast. :)

I hate guys like you and Brian :p . I can remember when you were the FNG's around here and now you're big names, makin better knives than me and doing it alot faster:grumpy:
Your first knife was a file forged with a fish fryer wasn't it? Funny how much your equipment will change in a year or two. Just don't try to think about how much money you've spent
Oh well. Whether is was useful (or asked for) or not I probably gave you advice at least once since you started here. So when you're rich and (in)famous I can tell everyone I got you started ;) :D

I don't want anyone thinking it was intented for any one person and it's off topic anyway :)

Matt -- you must have me confused with someone else!

I still fight with grinding and finishing and handles, and . . .everything else that has to do with knifemaking. Most of the time, I feel so far behind the curve, it isn't even funny and I feel obsessed to be better. That ain't natural for something that is just a part-time hobby! :D

I admire your work and dedication -- you're a young man, with little time to work in the shop and working with a limited amount of tools.

Dan -- thanks for the words or wisdom. :)

Thanks Burch
I was just bustin your balls a little bit.....thought maybe someone else might join in instead of leavin me hanging out there:jerkit: :D Where's the old fart when you need him

I really do think its amazing how we can progress our work with a little help and a lot of dedication. I've got my first knife around here somewhere and its just a little bit different than what I'm making now too :) I've been a member here long enough I can remember alot of folks just getting started, who are really into it deep now. Thats part of the fun.

Why yous bustin' ma balls? :D

It is great watching people's talents grow and seeing them create their "style." :)

:) you know me I'm that old man on the top of the mountain sitting there with legs crossed, hands out to the sides with palms up, just waiting for someone to ask me for a few words of wisdom.
and all I can say when the time comes is ,,,
dang it's coooold up here, you don't gots a beer and a smoke do yaw..
what a trip for that few a words.. :D :D hehehe ;)

OK,,, someone just rolled their eyes up , I heard that :D :D

I will add to this,, we all look for different things out of this knife making thing , and I don't have to list them. but it's OK to be where we are comfortable with it.. but I will say once you get out of that zone it can bite the bug..and kill it..easy as she goes...mates

I will have to study many years under the tutelage of Master Williams to achieve such status (maybe you've heard of this fellow?). :D

hey...what the hell!! How did my name get thrown into all this...he he! It has been a blast for me as well friends. Seems like life was empty without burnt fingers and dusty clothes :)
