I'm looking for a 300 lumen (or better) flashlight that's still sufficiently compact that I can edc. Also like something reliable. Any suggestions?

My thanks.

300 lumen seems like a bit much for edc tasks. I think 100-200 is perfect for edc. You need to give us more details like price range, uses, preferred batt?

I'm considering it for self defense. Stun the threat with the light, then get away fast. I have no interest in a fight if it can be at all evaded.

Something I could carry in a side pouch, under $200.

Does that help?

Jetbeam PC10. I have bought many many edc lights, once I got the PC10 all others have been collecting dust

Olight S10 or FourSevens CR123a Quark with XP-G2 emitter (don't like their re-branded model name changes) are a couple of nice choices. The FourSevens will come in a tactical or regular UI, giving you two different options to choose between. The Olight S10 has some good runtime on max output (although there is a step down from it's initial output after around 5 minutes) and also a hidden moonlight mode for night vision preservation. The Quark line also has this. :)

The 4 sevens Quark Tactical QT2L-X would be good IF your new to the world of modern flashlights. If you adventurous and like modes and options check out the armytec predator.

As mentioned, the Quark Q2TL-X model would be great for it, but I wouldn't rely on light to "stun" a threat. Depending on ambient light conditions and the mental state of your attacker, even a 1000 OTF lumen flashlight might not provoke any kind of a reaction. I've seen videos of people high on drugs completely ignoring pepper spray being repeatedly shot into their eyes. It's why my flashlight has a crenelated bezel and has a bit of heft to it;).

I have a fenix pd 32 that I EDC, it can put up to 315 lumens, it is great. Te holster it comes with sucks, but you can find better holsters or make one from kydex

I sometimes carry a PD32. It has good output in its brightest mode and has other modes with less output. I store it in the holster while it is in my briefcase but if I'm carrying it in my pocket I don't use the holster.

Zebra light SC600, one 18650 battery, with a turbo of 500 lumen, 750 for the first 5 minutes, nice small size overall, I have two zebra lights, one AA flashlight and one headlamp, both excellent quality. The SC600 is under $100 too.

Zebralight SC52 is scheduled to be released soon and will put out 280 lumen from one AA battery.

I have 2 different Ulzio flashlights and have been very pleased with them. They only put out 280 lumens, but that is enough to blind you and leave you seeing spots at night, specially with the strobe mode. They both have "crown" bezels and are waterproof. The R1 is too big for an EDC, but the Ulzio G-1 could easily be EDCed on a belt (it comes with a screwed on pocket clip).
The flashlight I EDC though is a Jet Beam PA 10. I think with the 14500 battery it is almost 300 lumens, but you lose the functions, this means the only output available is the max. It also has less of a hotspot than the Ulzios.
