I just purchased a BUCK 305X ... I've never seen one like this before ... it has the typical 305 clip blade, but in lieu of the coping blade it has a pair of scissors ... also has maroon, in lieu of black, handle inserts.

Was this a common pocket knife in the '90s? ... was this still the 'Lancer' model? ... how much are they worth? ... where all of the pocket knifes available with the maroon handle inserts?

Thanks in advance ...

Larry,
This is the Buck "Clipper". It was a variant
of the Lancer that Buck did for a while in
the late 80s and early 90s. In addition to
the red one (it is not really maroon), Buck
also manufactured them in blue, black, pink,
lavender and jigged brown bone.
They are worth about $25 - $30 to avid collectors although the brown bone is probably worth another $5.
Did you get this on eBay? I saw one in red
on there the other day.

All,
I forgot to add that Buck did several of the
300 series in Smooth and sawcut red composition. If any of you can find a sawcut
red 309, there are several collectors including me, who need one.
You can also find several of the 300 series
in stag, yellow composition, jigged brown
bone, etc. -- even some with David Yellow-
horse's beautiful inlays of turquoise and
desert gems/minerals.

Larry,

Thanks!!! Now I just need to find all the other colors, ;^)

As you can tell, I just starting collecting ... where can I find a listing of the 300 series models and thier variants (ie handle inserts)?

Yes, I just picked this one up from eBay ... I haven't found out 'bout any shows yet ... any other suggestions on where I can find them for sale?

Thanks again.

Larry,
I have a comprehensive listing of the 300
series variants. Email me your address and
I will send the listing to you.
Before you begin to purchase them, you probably will want to see the list and decide if you want to pursue all or just a
portion of them.
