301 pin question

I recently acquired a 301 with a 2009 date stamp, it looks like it has sat in a drawer since purchased, great shape! It has one small problem however, the pin that goes thru the delrin scales is high on one side. Ordinarily that would not bother me but there is a sharp edge on it and I know it is only a matter of time til it bites me. My question is; can I gently tap the high side of the pin or will I just drive it out on the other side? If that is not an option what happens if I just grind it down? Thank you

What is the situation on the other side of the knife? Do you have close-up photos?

I thought more people would have had this same problem and therefore possibly a solution. Apparently I was wrong

Apparently you are impatient.

You could try the tapping the pin while the other side is laying against a hard surface. I have used a vice to tighten up loose knives. You do need to be careful not to pinch that joint to hard as it could cause your backspring to bind.

It is desirable to have domed pins, but when the center pin is installed one side is relatively flat like a nail head and it can be sharp sometimes. The opposite end is finished by peening and rounding. Manufacturers should use a head-spinner or cup burr tool to round off the heads of the pin, but sometimes they don't. You could send it to Buck and ask them to fix it under warranty.

What is the correct name for that pin? Spring rivet? Spring pin?
