Are the new 303/301 with 3 backsprings weaker than the 2 backspring design? My new 303 had very weak backsprings and I like them a little stronger.

Was your Buck knife made here or in China? I read a post that the China made Bucks had weaker backsprings. I'm curious to see if that person just got a bad example or if there is a trend.

USA, In fact I had 2 that had weak backsprings both made in the USA. The first one I sent back because the pin for the scales was sticking out too far and I asked if they could repleace the knife with one that had stronger backsprings. The replacement was just as weak.

It may have been a bad batch. Send it in again when Joe gets up and running. And send it to Joe direct with a letter. I've got a 303 poly pearl with a lazy master blade, so I know what youre talking about.

I may send it back in again but spending $10 shiping (about $5 2 times) on a $20 knife seems silly.

The blades have a little side play, would tapping the pins take out some of the play?
