Looking through my materials, I found that I have around 12 square feet of this stuff, 3/8" thick, and I don't know what all can be done with it or how. It's non-magnetic, does it contain any iron? Can it be forged? What's it work best for?
Thanks in advance.

304 is the mild steel of stainless, it can be forged needs higher temp than mild steel. It's main use is corrrosion resistance in industrial and commercial use. also bolsters guards stuff like that the corrision resistance is not as good as say 316 or the 400 series. Makes good forge grates. If you forge it for outdoor use you don't have to put a finish on it. Makes good freshwater boat hardware. You could make soup ladles, gas forge bodies, wood stoves, waterboxes, flowerpots. You could make some really shiny yard art. You could make a weather vane. you could make a sign out of it. You could make a fish fryer. You could make a shrimp fryer. Uhhh. I guess that's about it.

It is also good in stainless damascus. Devin Thomas uses it with 440-c for some of the best looking double stainless anywhere. He used it with AEBL in the past. You could give it to me if you want. Bruce

Thanks for the info, everyone. Armin, that site is all kinds of useful. I bookmarked it.
Bruce, I'm always open to trades, if you want some of this stuff. Since I'm probably only going to be using it for fittings, I have a bit of a surplus. :>
Thanks again.
