The recent 309 thread had me looking thru the drawers. Was there ever a Camillus 305 & 309 with 2 handle pins? I have seen a 301 and actually have 303 configured that way but have never seen a 305 or 309.

DeSoto,

The 305 had handle pins from 1968 through 1971. I have a couple. Supposedly there was a 309 from 1971 with handle pins, but I have never seen one.

I've got this 303 and 305 with the two pins.
I also have a 301 with the same pin configuration.

There is 'Suppose to be' a 309 with pins as per the Charles Toffts list (oldest listing of 300 models). I do not have one and no one has ever showed me one. If some collector who is long of tooth does not have one then maybe we will declare it a myth. There are two or three collector people that we need to ask.....Camillus records are long gone......300

PS Or one will appear on the bay for $ 500 next week. ha

Craig, I take it I have as good a chance at the pinned 309 as I do with the red sawcut 309.....

Sounds like weekend hunts through antique (junk) stores and yards sales are in order.

I will lay my money on you finding a Red sawcut before the pinned Cami 309. For everyone else, it has to be a 309, sized and shaped and bladed like the later models. Long pull, front tang says BUCK Made in USA, NO model number stamp, one spring, double brass liners on reverse side. Its all in the pins. They must have only made some prototypes with pins before changing the design to no pins. Likely less than 50 is my guess. OR, they don't exist at all and the chart is wrong so I am still good putting my bet on you finding the Red. 300Bucks

I have the small pin 303, but have not seen a 309 with pins. I'll keep my eyes peeled though as I make my rounds.

Within the last year or so, there was a knife on the auction site advertised as a 309. The photos were absolutely terrible, but when I manipulated them I could see some pins. I bought the knife, but when it arrived it turned out to be a 305. I don't blame the seller who was new to the game, but I was pretty disappointed. That's probably as close as I will come.
