305 stainless for linerlocks?

can i use 305 stainless for linerlocks? its an austenitic grade. C 0.12, Si max 1, Mn max 2, Cr 17-19, Ni 10.5-13. any heat treatment necessary for this grade when (if possible) using it to make a locking liner? is this material inappropriate for this application?

Cannot be heat treated. Hardened only by cold working though it work hardens less than any other 300 series .What condition is it in ? If annealed it might not hold up well.

i dont know in what condition it is i have to try making a lock and see if it will hold up.
