305 steel?

A friend brought me two dive knives to sharpen and the tang says 305 steel. Can anybody tell me about it? Thanks in advance.

I think it might be nonferrous stainless steel, similar to what Emerson Knives uses on the non-locking side of the folders. Very corrosion resistant and doesn't hold an edge remarkably well.

Thanks Rev, that was fast. So I'm just going to put a somewhat sharp edge on these so they don't roll. Maybe coarse finish like 320 grit. Any ideas?
