Folks I have not tried to keep track of this model or its future. As in any large business, sales projections are made and cost/profit stuff is calculated before it is introduced. I also have noticed that absence from the website is not a qualifier it any knife's demise.
The old clipper was kicked around because the scissors cut poorly. Buck in an effort to improve that bought Wenger SAK scissors and used them on a limited number of knives before the model was dropped. You can tell them because the scissors say WENGER on the side.
Historically, Case and others have made models with scissors, Case has used its Peanut line in the past and the scissors replaced the secondary blade. Once in a while other 'modern' companies with make a few scissored models. But only SAK continues with them year to year.
My opinion is that a small folder with scissors is a 'executive' or a purse type design. I would have the opinion, that the only knife I would want with scissors would be one with a screwdiver, can opener, etc.... so as to have one with 'tools'. SAK has that market sewn up, so to speak.
Now that we have spoken about this on BF, whether it is true or false , watch the prices of them go up on the auction site.......
