This knife is by far one of my two favorite slippies period. The new S30V canoe made me think again about how nice it would be to have a premium Wrangler. The thing is Buck never actually made the Wrangler to my knowledge. It was first made on contract by Schrade and then by Camillus. I keep hoping that Buck will make some more but that doesn't seem likely since Buck never has before (could be off base here).

So I went and bought another Camillus 307 to put away for safe keeping (I have a EDC one and one in the roll already but I just needed another :) ).

Anyway, fellas the inventory that came available with Camillus inventory selloff are fading away/running out. If you want one of these NIB, I suggest you go and get 'em soon.

It's on my list. :)
But it's a long list:mad:

I almost pulled the trigger on 1 of those S30V canoes as well, but there were just too many others"I needed"... they'll all be Christmas gifts for others, with the exception of an axe & fillet knife for myself.:D

300Bucks is a better specialist than myself, but I believe only the 301 & 303 were made on contract with Schrade. In my notes, I have the 309 & 307 being added in 1971, on Camillus contract.

I wasn't sure, just going on what I think I remember. Thanks for the right info.

Scott, I just looked in my notes and material and the data matches what you posted . The 301 and 303 were the only Schrade made Bucks . I as well like the 307, it was the right size . DM

Oh, the other fav is the 701. Those English Script ones are sweet. I'll have to give thirds to the large Trapper pattern.

Working on history for 307 for BCCI website. Previous info correct.

Here's a 99% way to remember who made what. "If its got a date code Buck made it"

The mail man just came with my brand spanky new old stock Camillus made Buck 307 Wrangler. That thing has got snap and pop like an alligator!!! It is the perfect slipjoint pocket knife:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Here's the last thread before this one with all the 307 photos....http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687244&highlight=307

It's not a knife for someone who DOES NOT like knife lump showing in a pocket. Its a 301s defensive lineman brother......good for a belt or back pocket sheath.

Back at the end of that old thread I did not ever actually answer Orca about why the pivot pins sit proud of bolsters. He speculated about the hardness of the pins, which I agree. But the proud pivot metal is caused by the 'difference' of hardness of the pin/bolster metal, even if both are SS the pivots will be much harder than bolster if the knife is any account. After that whether the pin is "proud" or not is due to the skill of the polisher.........

IIRC, there is a book out there by Steven Dick of Tactical Knives called "The working Folder", in which one of the articles really praises the 307.
