New addition. Somewhat rushed, and made to someone else's specs (hence the size, shape, texture and notch cut into the aft portion of the blade). They wanted the finish and texture to have sort of a home-made, post-apocalyptic feel, so this is what I came up with.
Buffalo horn handle, patinated carbon steel blade (patinated in weak acid to protect against rust), large nickel-silver pins. I had to fudge it a little. It's a large blade, and all I had to bevel it was an angle grinder. More to come!

Looks like a real work-horse. What steel did you use and what are the knife dimensions?

Mystery steel. I wanted to make it out of 1080, but didn't have the thickness requested on hand, so I made it from 1/4" plate that the person who requested it provided. I thought it was HY-80 at first, but after heat treating it, skipping a file across it, and seeing the sparks it produces, I don't think so. It got relatively hard. It's approx. 14" full-length, and 2 1/2" wide.
