31 blade in a 21?

If this has been answered please forgive me and point me in the right direction…

Can you put a 31 blade in a 21 frame? The blades look identical to me but before I take them apart and start experimenting maybe one of you fine folks can save me the trouble!

no. the position of the detent ball hole is different on both the blades

Thank you! After thinking about it, the size of the detent hole would be different also correct?

I'm pretty sure the hole is bigger along with being in a different spot. Not sure how it would line up with the stop pin either, as it was changed a little on the 31 also.
