31 vs 21 sound check?

Hey guys, quick question.

One of my favorite parts about owning the 21 is the TINK sound upon closing the knife. You guys know what I'm talking about right? It's more metallic and harmonic than a THWACK... so maybe a tiiiiiiink sound rather haha. This sound was consistent through my three experiences with the 21 but not with my Inkosi and Zaan with their ceramic gonads.

Is there any chance the 31 has this glorious TIIIIIINK sound? Fingers Crossed!

My 21 and 31 definitely sound different. I like the 21 sound a little better, but the 31 is just as satisfying because it’s so much smoother and engages very seamlessly.

I don’t know if the placement of the clip has any bearing on the lockup sound, but I know there’s a difference between my 25 and Inkosi. If that’s the case with the 31’s and I’m not saying it is, but if it is then the lockup authority on the 31 will be dampened and won’t sound like a 21 at all.

I really like all folder’s sound and feel. I have 2 21s and 2 Inkosis and a 31 in transit to me. If anything I like the Inkosis lock feel and sound more than a 21. But I do think the Sebenza is a more classy/sexier knife. That said, I am a carpenter/GC & general outdoorsman so my Lg Inkosi sees incomparably more carry & use than anything else. Finally, I am 100% of the opinion that the ceramic interface/detent is an upgrade to the 21. Unfortunately, because people are bananas & their value will increase for no good reason, my 21s are being relegated to Pelican box duty and my hand has been forced to buy my small Inkosi & 31 to take their place.

Archie, these are words of wisdom man. I use my inkosi for back country stuff and leave the really gritty stuff for spyderco tool steels. I do like the ergos on the inkosi quite a bit

I think I like the 21's a little more because of there history, I don't no why! but my inkosi is aways 2nd runner up, besides I love the sound the 21 makes when you open up its blade vary solid feeling.
