What's with the 310s... You don't hear much about them... And I don't see very many of them... Does anyone have any pics...
I have this one... :)

Thanks

:)

310??? Geuss I need to do more research. I never heard of one. Or is it the one that's the 309 with the extra coping blade?

1994 was the first year, they've bounced back & forth between being a regular catalog item or exclusive for SMKW and more recently Bass Pro. Most of the recent Bass Pro issue I've seen in the wood slide box seem to have 309 blades, too many to be an oddity. I know 300Bucks has done a mini seminar on them in the past. Here is a pic of my 2005, neat because the Idaho stamp is on both secondary blades. The earliest 1994 ones are nice with a flat ground blade.

Thanks DeSotoSky, for the picture and info... I was told that they made the 310 for 2 years... and ran out of 310 blades and started using 309 blades...

Anyway I can't say for sure, it was just what I was told... I'm sure 300 knows all about the 310s... :D

The Bass Pro website shows them in stock so the knife must still be made.
Here is a picture of a 2002 310. I need a tripod....

Ditto.... I purchased one on sale last year at Bass Pro. 2011 date code with a 309 blade.
My next older 310 is the 2005 Idaho. It actually has 310 on the tang.
The current Bass Pro website picture shows a 309 blade.

300Bucks has done a very nice history about the 310 Whittler. It's on the BCCI website under MODEL HISTORY.
I just finished reading it. It's pretty good, I'm clearer on a few details now.

Thanks again DeSotoSky, I'll have to look on the BCCI website when I have some time... ITE

The 1998 Jig bones with the LE shields are neat.
That I know of, it's the only 310 ever done that was a special edition.
I'm still looking for the 301 and 505 to complete the set.

Here's my set... But I don't have a 505... I didn't know that they made one... I'll look for one now...

Does anyone have a picture of a 505 jig bone with a LE shield...

Set...

Can you post a link? I'd like to read it, but I can't seem to find it. (I went to what I think is the website, but it doesn't seem to be open to non-members)
Thanks :)

Have to be a BCCI member.... if you are not and collect Bucks, you should be. Lots of information and all catalogs are on the site. Quarterly newsletters mailed. All past newsletters are also on the site. In addition you receive discounts on items from the Buck website. The annual knife discount alone pays for the membership.

OK, I see. Maybe I will. Thanks.

I usually post those histories here also, it may show up if you do a 310 search. You guys have covered it well. Like free agent sports stars the the Model 310 has traveled here and there.

All the newer ones will say 309 on the tang. They will be dated on the blade but can be in SMKWs and Bass Pro inventory for several years so don't worry about date codes on these later ones. I gave up on a complete date code set. So, there is something someone could try for......

The 309 is a nice size 'business' office pants knife, several forum members carry them at work, if you like the extra coping blade they can be just the ticket.

I asked the difference about the 309 and the 310 over on AAPK. I had just recently bought a 310 and when it arrived I was like wow looks just like my 309. Sir 300Bucks answered my inquiry very adequately, I still do not have a 309 in my possession.
