Here is my Sunday Buck knife story,

Hi all. I was taking a look at the Buck slip joint article in the new blades guide and read the paragraph about the Buck 313. It said that the first 313 issued had the model number stamped on the back side of the blade?????

Well I have an old buck slip joint that has been in a dresser drawer for more than half of my life. could it be????? So I go and get it......and wow it has the tang stamp on the back of the blade :) .

Now this knife has a story......Way back......along time ago......Long before some of you......but not before most of you (hahaha). I was a student....a Freshman in high school the year was 1973; so that's 33 years ago. The kid I sat next to in drafting class needed a gift to give his sweetheart ;).......so I had a ring that would fit his needs......but what did he have to trade for it??????? He pulled this old buck slip joint out of his pocket......I see that it's been mistreated and felt sorry for it......so I gave it a new home. It's been in one of my dresser drawers for the last 33 years. So you see.....I've been making a nice home mistreated and abused Buck knives for most of my life......it's only fitting that the first rescued knife turns out to be a first issue ;) .
