300Bucks

300Bucks, I didn't know there was 2 different ones made... I don't have it with me... Sorry... I'm at my sons home in Carlsbad, CA... when I get home I'll look... It could be 2 or 3 weeks or so before I get back home... ITE

Very nice Yachtsman there, I have one also but have never carried it.

SAy? Was the Yachtsman Buck's only Marlinspike knife they ever made? I guess there's just not enough of a market for such a highly specialized blade. A friend of mine who was a sailing fanatic always carried a "Myerchin" Marlinspike knife. I think he told me that they were a Japanese knife company.

Also I've often wondered why nobody has made a multi-tool with a Marlinspike

I"ve got a Ka-Bar Marlinspike folder but I sure would rather have this Buck model :)

ITE,

Only difference is the spring is either solid or is two part (2 springs or split). It looks split and is easily seen. Solid is older than split.

JD,
Lots of marlinspikes in the world. Some have been made for long time. See them more around Great Lakes and Coasts. Camillus made these Bucks and are now discontinued but are on auction site frequently. Sorta pricey.
Camillus also made there own that was the same as Bucks last version, one with no bolsters or 'Bareheaded'. They look alike one had Buck on blade, one has Camillus.

There are about 7 Buck versions. And some speical issues. Never made in house by Buck.

Camillus made the Case Riggers knife also, the frames are exactly the same just different bolsters. I have the Case and Buck, now I need the Camillus,
