Wow, it's kinda small isn't it. I thought of getting one, but now that I see it with something to give it some scale, maybe not.

Small is the correct word for this knife.

Even the compact 424 Bucklite dwarfs the Talus with at least 5/8" more overall, when open, length.

Weight comparison: 1.27 oz. for the float-on-water (almost) Bucklite 424 while the much heavier 3.03 oz. Talus (weight is shown on the reverse of the clam pack) could be used for a casting weight. The Spitfire 722, also made in 2013, weighs in at 3.34 ounces and it is huge when compared to both the Bucklite 424 and Talus 316.

Prior to seeing the new Talus I believed that the trend for Buck was away from offshore manufacture and toward USA mfg. This Canadian Tire knife has taught me otherwise.

Is it the only exception to that rule? Will fewer Buck knives be made offshore, the same number or will more Buck knives be made offshore? This model spices up the question some are asking: "Is it a fake/counterfeit" or is it a authentic Buck knife made with authorization from Buck Knives, Inc." You really haven't covered all the bases when you see a knife like this if you don't keep an eye on Canadian Tire advertisements, which for me aren't always on my radar, a few mouse clicks away.
